After watching the weekends rugby game (All Blacks vs. South Africa) I wonder how "fans" can get themselves so worked up over a game.

Greg Chappell had the right idea he went after the streaker with his cricket bat.

The other option for 'audience participation' is to quietly lead the would-be streakers out to the practice ground and see how they go in the 100 metre sprint. Just to make sure they're honest about their efforts we'll add an angry Rhodesian Ridgeback attack dog for some additional motivation.

That may be going too far but how's about every sportsground, cinema, theatre and arena in NZ, Australia, South Africa and the UK issuing en bloc trespass notices against any streaker/pitch invader... no more rugby, league, cricket, tennis (no Anna Kournikova!), soccer, rules football, concerts, shows, movies... for the rest of their lives... now that would be a decent deterrent...
