WTF Pussycat Dolls???

So my sister was watching some awards show or somethin and the Pussycat Dolls were performing. I had seen these chicks before but never paid much attention to them. But watching them I realized A) there's like 30 of them B) only one of them ever sings! WTF is that about?!?!? The one girl sings everything while the rest just strip in the background (which is fine by me) but is that all it takes to make it nowdays? Just have one actual singer and the rest can just fall back?

True most singing groups are comprised of one lead singer and then backups, but the backups at least sang some of the time! I don't even think the other girls had mics! How long has this band of random strippers been performing this shamockery of a show?

they started out as an act in Las Vegas. in fact there is a club called Pure that they perform at. personally i think it's pretty lame when only one person sings.

I can't stand PCD music, but i appreciate their talent. Maybe it may seem wierd to you that there're like 7 members or something, but singing is only half their show. They have real talent when it comes to dancing, and they flaunt it. Don't think of that as a demeaning way to "make it nowadays", its tough as shit, or else there'd be PCD copy cats in every downtown strip bar...

Well yes, I have no complaints about their talents as strippers. And I mean that in the best way possible. But the simple fact that only one of the 7 (seems like more) do any singing at all is so lame to me. If she (the lead/only singer) wants to do all the singing while the others provide eye candy, more power to em. They found their niche and do it well. But the others should, in reality, be referred to as background dancers as opposed to group members. My sister says the cd jacket says "All vocals and backgrouds performed by whatshername" Thats hilarious to me. The others are basically just her posse she brings on stage :icon16::dogpile:

They are a tight group, and though they do not sing, help in the process of creating songs, ie lyrics. They do provide their voices as background/2nd vocals in some songs, but i see how you see them as taking too much credit from the main singer. Well, like i said, they're a tight group, started out as a group of dancers that did a show together, found they have talent in the music biz, got the right connections, and made it big. The other girls are more than just "eye candy", they as much part of the group as the lead singer.

There a few that do do some backup chorus singing. But the rest are their for choreography just like any dance group except they are a perm fixture instead of having to hire dif dancers................
but in light of the above few post i think i will bring a couple wads of dollar bills to show my love for there talent

Sorry to bring this thread back from near death, but I read in the newspaper today that the PCD are looking for ANOTHER MEMBER!!! Yes, they will be joining forces with the CW (aka the WB + UPN) to launch a reality series in the Fall called "The Search For The Next Pussycat Doll" :rolleyes:
