Made the front lip, sideskirts and working on the rear valance right now. Cut the headlights out because im going to do sleepy eyes. Hacked the suspension. Tein brand-themed tension rods and tie rods. What drift car isnt complete without a worn undercarraige and frame grind/scrap marks from being soo low?? I just scratched and took a xacto knife to cut groves and then painted with chrome to look like fresh marks.

Wheels are from some old fujimi Koenig ferrari car from long time ago. The rears where too wide so I cut some of the inner side of the wheel, and stretch some smaller tires over them for that stretch tire look that is known for jdm drift cars. Shave the front license plate too.

I actually originally started this model before i finished my real car. thinking this model would help me determine how mine would come out, but i finished my real one first =D. The model will not be modeled after my real car now lol.

I got 3 other models im going to be working on too, an old tamiya acura nsx, aoshima rx7 fd drift machines model, and another aoshima gr.a jecs r32

haha thanks BH, someone should do the PG 2006 season cars

painted the driveshaft black along with rear lower control arms
http://www.tunerbase.com/modelcar/000_0027.jpg
When i started working on the underside, I mist sprayed tamiya primer from a distance, then mist sprayed the red *that im going to use on the body* onto the underside. typical cars dont have perfect paint under them, esp a car thats over 12 years old. So i feel it looks very realistic to my car.

This model lacks sway bars and has an automatic tranny!!!!!!
I dont remember my real car's exhuast running under the driveshaft... hmmm
Fujimi -1

Change the interior seating.. Had an R32 seat from a leftover model but switched it to some bucket seat.. gotta repaint it flat black becuase some how my flat paint came out glossy..
http://www.tunerbase.com/modelcar/000_0028.jpg
I made the harness out of tamiya masking tape into strips and had it flat red, but decided id go green but my green is glossy enamel, so Im going to have to work something out.

Almost done with the rear valance, will probably be something like this.

For the seatbelts, I replied in your other thread, but I recommend using white medical tape instead of masking tape (i had some leftover from my wrist surgery). The reason being, it's a cloth tape, with a texture that's very much like a seatbelt. You can get it at any drug store. (like the top one here: http://www.band-aid.com/tapes.shtml ) Since it's white, you can paint it any color you want. If you use artists acrylics (the tube kind) thinned with water, it'll absorb into the fabric of the tape and since the acrylic is water based paint, the belts will be more flexible than enamels or other hobby paints.

I don't have a good pic of mine at the moment, but you can see a little bit of it in the bottom corner of this pic:

haha the model tie rod steering link came like that.. I wish Tamiya would re-release the 180sx and some s14s since tamiya rocks.

didnt get too much time today.. spray primed the seat so I can put a better coat on it. Picked up some medical cloth tape from riteaid tonight so Ill be making some new harnesses
http://www.tunerbase.com/modelcar/000_0036.jpg
yup thats a HKS cardboard cut out for real front mount intercoolers, i was going to sell it on ebay so maybe some jdm tyte fanboys would buy it but its just cardboard who cares.

Oh and the r32 came out of the spray booth. Pics have dust on it.. I havent really spent too much time on it yet. .I dont think im going to put too much custom time into it, just simple with a lowering job etc. Waiting a few more days before I try polishing the body.

Silvia hood on 180sx looks interesting

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/100_1470.jpg

I lost the cockpit piece for the skyline, so i might chop the front end onto the s13 silvia model, and cut the roof off, make it a Skyvia convertible.. would be interesting, there is actually a kid local to me who did a r32 skyline body conversion to an s13 and it looks dam close too..

my other unfinished models

so I wonder, did you realize you are building an automatic tranny equipped 180SX?

the tamiya version has the correct manual tranny. not that it really matters.

this brings on my next question, which I'll not pirate your thread with. you know where to look.
