Finally got around to doing the write up. Sorry it was so long over due.

Some pics came out a lil blurry due to being too close. :(
I'll try to replace them soon, but you can still see whats going on...

Well done Boogie. That is a superb writeup. Only minor complaint was a little camera focus would have been good. Try using Macro next time.
I love the blue clearance lights, although Gforces might think its a little ricey.
Great Documentation again!

Yeah.. I'll replace the pics when I can, but some shots were hard to hold things plus use the camera/zoom so I ended up getting a little too close to the parts, so they came out blurry...
The lights arent really blue, they're hyper whites... that shot was taken when I still had stock fog light bulbs which is why you notice such a difference.
Thats for the compliment though :D

Hey you know if that'll work for the P10's? :)

I'm pretty sure its the same exact setup.. ;)

Hey, that headlight setup you got, did you have to change the harness or antyhign like htat?? Also, is that last photo with the HID's you got??

Hey...question on splicing in on the parking light power...where was that harness plugged into? Was it just in the back of any one of the two parking lamps??

Yes, use the power connector on the passenger side bulb since its close to the fuse box.

Ok...I was looking and the P10 is a little different. The fuse box is in the right spot, but the actual fuse block is on the row closest to the fender and the far left (for the fog lamps). I'm gonna pull it off and try it, hopefully the wires will be the same.
What gauge wire did you buy for the 2 foot section? Thanks!

The relay wiring should be the same. Relay may be in a different spot for the P10 but you can apply my steps accordingly. If there isnt a pink wire w/ a blue stripe I can find out what it is, but I do think it is the same.
As for the guage, heh, thats why I didnt specify... the wire I had has been laying around for a long time so I couldnt remember the guage. I think it was 14 or 16. Just make sure its stranded wire, not solid. Solid core wire can break when you bend it. ;)

The key here is to make a "Y" formation so that power still flows through the red wire to your "parking" lamp as normal, but also runs the signal to your foglight relay
Little help B-Boogie......
When you connect these wire do you twist them together sort of like braiding hair....
Thanks a lot. Very well put and easy to follow. :dogpile: and the crowd goes wild....haaaaaa

Yep. Basically what you're doing is "splicing" the new wire from your relay, into the power wire for your parking light.
I just used a connector to make everything a little prettier. Could have gone ghetto and just twisted all the wires together and covered them with electrical tape. :p

BOOGIE, this has to do w/ the clear corner write up. i tried to loosen the long screw you mentioned and tried to yank the headlight out and the damn thing wouldn't budge. it wiggled around a bit but wouldn't come out. the long screw on the left headlight is right by the lever to let the hood up right. buth the one on the right is behind the headlight... right. then i said forget it and put the 2 screws in then turned the headlights on and the were cockeyed. they were not centered correctly COULD YOU PLEASE HELP!!! MY G20 IS CROSSEYED!!:(

poppy, thanx! :)
mr. coilover, doh!! i thought i went back and edited that, guess i should fix it...
that long screw adjust the beam angle of your lights. sorry, i tried to write that from memory about a year after i did the mod.
the third screw you need to get at is actually a nut/bolt. the bottom rear of your headlights have a bolt coming out and it goes through the chassis and is held by a nut. it is located towards the radiator side of the headlight along the lower back. you'll need a socket to remove it.
if you cant find it, i'll take a picture when i get home from work later..

Hey you guys out there with the P10's. The process is a little bit different.
The fog light relay is the on the left, closest to the fender. You will see it. What you will have to do is take out ALL of the fuse blocks. Then, like described before, push each wiring harness down into the assembly. Then you will have to look around on all four sides of the box. You will need to pry little clips that are located on the corners. Also, it may help to take off the two screws that mount the assembly to the chassis and the hood switch right next to it. With a good amount of force, keep pulling on the "wire harness holder" black piece that you unpryed. When that comes out, you can access all the wires.
You will want to use the RED/BLUE wire. Then put that into the RED/BLUE wire off the pass parking lamp. Walla!! re-assemble, and you're all set.
Good luck!

Great writeup, very informative and easy to follow.
Just a quick question: in that last picture what bulbs do you have in the headlight and clearance lights? I saw you said hyper whites above, but I'm not sure what that means. Thx!

b00gie, do you think it would be possible to wire those windshield nozzle lights up to go on with the brake lights? how would you go about doing it? I think I have an idea but do not want to take a chance

You'd need to find a switched power lead from the brake lamp wiring.
Shouldnt be hard... if you really want to do that! :p

you haven't heard about them yet? Check them out here (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1272925873) I just wired them up to the turn signals. took about 20 minutes to do.

I hope you dont mind, i linked your site in my links, and also linked your fog light rewire and intake install to my site as well. If you would like me to take it off let me know, I just thought that it is a great write up and its another way for people to find it. I really dig your site though, and cant wait for another tutorial:alien2:
