This kinetic-abstract oil-painting entitled “Velocity” (/“G.T.O.”) was an experiment in style; my goal was to capture the energy of speed and motion. The scene depicts a ’91-’93 Mitsubishi 3000GT vr4 and a ’94-’96 Mitsubishi 3000GT vr4) racing side-by-side, while all other elements of the composition fly past in a blur. You can see hints of telephone-poles, power-lines, trees, clouds, railing, and grass in the background, but the only objects that retain their form are the cars as their speeds are matched and the centerlines of the road as they are constant. Still, the drivers are high on adrenaline and completely focused on the maneuvering of their vehicles, so even the shapes of their cars are slightly distorted to each-other’s peripheral vision; some colors are inverted and some of the headlights, air-dams, foglights, indicators, highlights, lateral-reflections, fenders, rooflines are represented by abstract elements “floating” above the surface of the canvas while some are recessed. Essentially, this is not a painting of cars, but rather a painting of various miscellaneous shapes and kinetic splashes of paint that happen to resemble cars, and other background elements.

I like how you've mushed together the 99' front end and a 97' front end. Very nice!

The gallery-price is $900 USD, but since I need some parts for my RX-7 soon I'd take $350 USD for it. The painting is rather large, measuring 36" x 48". The edges are painted black so that you can hang it without a frame. This peice is actually registered with the National Fine Arts Registry, and comes with an official certificate of ownership. It would look great in the garage of any 3000GT/Stealth enthusiast.

Its not that i dont like 3000GTs, its just i feel they're out of place in this painting.

No, I haven't posted it in 3SI. I am not a member there. Perhaps someone here could be so kind as to do that for me.

It's free to register, just don't use a hotmail or yahoo email address (they don't accept free web-based email addresses for spam reasons)
g-man, you do know this is the 3000gt section...right...lol You're on your own with that opinion.

Yeah, I am not satisfied with the execution of the left sides of both cars; I think I was just trying to make each side look different from the other.
