2001 Monte dash lights-Few burned out-Replacement Help requested

I just bought a 2001 Monte Carlo LS last week and a few of the bulbs are burnt out behind the speedometer and tachometer. I took apart the gauge cluster to change the bulbs but found that the bulbs are soldered into the printed circuit board (pcb). This is no problem for me but I can't get the bulbs from GM. My local Chevy dealer told me I have to send the whole cluster in to have them replaced. I'm not interested in this route so I'm wondering if there is anywhere to buy the replacement bulbs (or leds) so that I can change them myself. I figure if the correct bulbs are not available I could get some white leds and replace all of the bulbs. However, if I choose the latter method I need to know if generic leds would require resistors inline or if the stock solder points would take care of the proper resistance. I've done a complete led replacement on a gauge cluster for a 96 monte and it worked out great. I will appreciate any technical or experienced input on this matter. My first post on AF, Steve
