difference between 2.3l and 2.4l

i bought a '95 z24 that had a blown motor...it was cheap.....well ive been calling around to the local junkyards and now im having problems locating another 2.3. i can find plenty of 2.4's.

i was actually wondering if it would be possible to put a 2.4 in the 95. i was having troulbes finding info but i did see that in 1995 they added balance shafts or something like that to the motor then in 96 they started calling it the 2.4, is there any other difference's? and does anyone know if it would be possible to put a 2.4 in the 1995 cavalier without having too many troubles such as electrical issues?

if you want to make your car better, throw a 3.1 in there

2.4's will do fine though.

You'll need the PCM, ECU, and entire wireharness for the engine for the 2.4 since you'll be going from OBD1- OBD2 if your in a state that requires emissions tests. There are other ways around that if your not.

I have one warning about the 2.4:DO NOT TURN BACKWARDS!You will bend the valves this way.Turn the crankshaft as you are tightening a bolt.
