Need help with Compression Test and Boost Leak Test

Okay, I feel like a total :newbie: (always wanted to use that).

First off, I just want to make sure I am doing this right before I mess anything up....When doinga boost leak test, attach the "unit" (already built it" to the intake part of the turbo and then just simply pump it up to 20 psi...right? Do I have to put the car into that ACC position or what?

ALSO> Does anyone have instruction or a link to how to use the compression tester? Also a link or instructions on how to use the boost leak tester would not hurt either!

THANKS

Boost leak tester
1. Remove intake tubing so there is just the 2"(I think) metal tubing.
2. Attach the boost leak tester and make sure it is on tight.
3. Pump pressure(via compressor) into the system using the boost leak tester.
4. Go low psi at first and listen for leaks.
5. Slowly move upwards in psi untill you reach the pressure you want to test at.
Further info on the tester can be found at http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

Compression tester
1. Make sure your car is warm but not fully warmed up(removing spark plugs when car is fully warm gives a chance that the plugs may strip).
2. Remove a plug starting on either the left or right side of the head.(be sure not to mess up your gap for your plugs by dropping them or something. (PLUGS WILL BE HOT.)
3. Attach compression tester into the the hole where you just removed the plug.
4. After the tester is attached crank over your car(Hold the key in the start posistion) untill the psi on the tester gauge stops increasing. This is better done with two people so one can turn the key while the other watches the gauge.
5. Make note of the compression. Remove tester.
6. Repeat with each cylinder.

I think this about sums it up. If I missed anything someone else please fill in.

Well for the compression part...thsi is where i wonder.

Am i not supposed to remove all the plug wires and all the spark plugs and then proceed to crank it up. But one thing is for sure, that all 4 plug wires must be unattched...correct?

Thanks again

Pull all 4 plugs so it can crank fast enough to get a decent sample. Hold the throttle open too.
