Mr. Luos
07-15-2006, 06:26 PM
New rear end is still not ordered.
Pulling the stock one out Monday I think. I need to get the backing plates off it and sent to the guy building my rearend.
Then it will need built (1-2 weeks) and re-installed.
Then broken in.

Starting to look like new times won't be until Cordova. But I am shooting for Super Chevy Show at Bandimere in about a month.

Wheelie bars right now would be kind of soon.. wait till hes in the single digits.. and then throw em on.. although getting em now would look badass but give a false impression..

Mr. Luos
07-16-2006, 12:27 AM
I don't want to run anything faster than 11.49.
No way am I putting a cage/bar in this car.

Can it pull the front tires??? Easy. Just need enough tire.
I am going to have to go fairly easy on the first couple passes.
Last one I will go all out and see if I can get her into the 10's. :grinyes:
Of course....that is at Cordova.

Car won't pass tech to run anything faster than 11.49.
No bar.
Won't get one either.

Probably have to pull it up at around 1,000 feet. Some tracks will allow one glory pass and tell you to slow it down the rest of the night.
Of course this means you get one more glory run!

why not even a 6 pt. you cant tell me you built that car just to say you have the power, we all know your going to use it, a roll cage is just a smart thing to do with a car like that even if you arnt going to be dragracing it, and with how easy a 6 pt is to put in, and the good ones they tuck up nice and close to the interior panels + it would wtiffen your car up even more

Mr. Luos

It is a street car.
Built for my fun, not to run the best time possible.

I drive it 95% on the street. If an accident were to happen, I don't want the back of my melon hitting a bar.
Yeah, I want it mean at the track, but I don't race it enough to justify it.
At least not right now.

man, with those tires, off the line you will probably put like 5 cars on me!!

l was happy, cuz l knew you were gonna have some traction issues and l was gonna get ahead of you for a little while but now these tires changes the whole story:lol:

also, for some reasion l cannot do burnouts with this car.. l turned the T/C off and tried but NO! burn smell came from the engine and l stopped right away.. probably l wont be able to do burnout at the track. l dont know why.. if it s me or computer dont let me..

Told you.. you have to edit the computer to let you do it.. until then your Mustang will not see any smoking tires while sitting still..

Anyway I would get a bar just so if you ever roll the car over, it would be fine and rebuildable instead of having to get another one..

So the commercial on TV with the father and son doing burnouts in a parking lot in a GT is in a reprogramed car?

Hmm, mental not to self. Go to dealership and test drive one and say If I can't get it to do a rightous burnout, I'm not buying it.

I can't see a stick with the traction control turned off not being able to do a burn out. Unless that car has girly gears too (but even a LT1 2.73 auto can do a nice burn out so I don't know)

Erdal, how did you try to burnout??

Rev to 4500 and pop the clutch in first gear???

Erdal, how did you try to burnout??

Rev to 4500 and pop the clutch in first gear???

l have done burn outs on stick bmws.. it worked fine and l burned the tires well.. but with this it just doesnt work.

l hit the clutch with left foot and with my right foot l hit the brake and with the side of my right foot l rev the car up to 5k rpm and pop the clutch but rpms right away went down and the engine stopped..

then l tried anotherway, l hit the clutch and l rev the car up to 5k rpm and l pop the clutch and hit the brake right away but this time the car didnt let me brake. the brake got very very hard as rock and un pushable.

so is there any other tricks that l can do on this? l am not burnout expert.. l am a pretty good driver but l am definetely not experienced on donuts and burnouts.

Mr. Luos
07-24-2006, 04:33 PM
That was clutch you were smelling for sure.

If you want...
Avoid the brake. Just rev and pop the clutch. See if it spins them.

definetely does.. it spins all the way through to second ( even with traction control on ).. l leave a long mark to the street. l just cant stay and spin tires.

Too much brake pressure maybe.
I wouldn't try it anymore though.

after you start spinng then just hit the brake a little not hard just put a little pressure on it. But you might not be able to sit there and do one like an auto.

That is tough.
I did a couple like that with the Trans Am before getting the linelock installed.

It just sounds like you are hitting the brake too hard. Besides, how many miles do you have on your car? I don't think I would be driving it that way yet. You should break it in (go easy on it) for atleast 1500 miles. I'd going even longer with a brand new car, maybe after a couple of oil changes, say, 3-4,000 miles. Not trying to be your Dad or anything, I just don't want to see you tear-up the car. Not to mention the expense. After you break it in though, just rev it up to about 4,500 rpm and dump the clutch and hit the brake just hard enough to hold the car not stop the engine. GOOD LUCK
