Hey,

I am new to this forum but not AF. I recently purchased a new 2006 Ninja 636 Plasma Blue. My wife was moving my bike one day and dumped it....yippee yeehaw just turned 600 miles. It broke the mirrors, foot pegs, front fairing (the big one piece that goes around the headlights etc..) handle bar clip on, shifter assembly, and top of the tree...the triple clamp i believe is what it is called. I think that's about it....I have found the pegs, handle bar clip on, triple clamp???, shifter assembly. I can find most OEM parts on ebay....no issues there. I know about bike bandit.com....what I am looking for and can't seem to find is carbon fiber mirors that are shorter than the stock ones. A front fairing (are they really $300 bucks?) and the answer to this question...when the bike got dumped over it scuffed the hell out of the paint job....I am a perfectionist and like my bike to be perfect....can a regular body shop repaint my bike to the exact plasma blue or do I have to pay $500 plus dollars from bike bandit for each piece that is scuffed (all of the left saide fairings) for a piece that is already painted? Do you know of any company out there that offers the carbon fiber mirrors? Do you know where to find cheaper fairings? Oh yeah....if your thinking damn that's alot of damage for just dropping it.....it bounced off a curb

I have looked for hours and can't find any decent mirrors...and the fairings...just trying to save a little money

oh that sucks! when do the divorce papers finalize. ronayers.com has stock plastics, the prices arent that special. as for any shop unless you know them or dealt with them before its a gamble on how good their work is. when i had my front fairing repainted i just went to the dealership. they dont have any excuses when it comes to matching the paint.

I can't help ya on finding all the other parts, as it seems you have already looked at the options I would have presented (bikebandit, etc.). I just wanted to add that YES fairings are EXPENSIVE. If you have a local bike "graveyard" you can try to see if there are any other 05/06 blue 636's laying around without fairing damage that you might be able to salvage, but I would doubt it. Honestly, if you're that much of a perfectionist, go back to a $tealership. They're your best bet on matching color. Sorry.

Need some of those fairing protector pegs too (whatever they're called) for the next drop so it won't cost so much...

Did your fairings break or did it get scratched or both? If it's just scratched or scuffed, don't worry about being perfectitionist now, a little late for that. And besides, bikes will pick up blemishes anyway. If it's broken, check out sharkskinz.com, (for individual piece) or Godfather racing:

The entire fairing set for $450, needs to be painted. If you want to keep it stock, paint it to match the factory, get those colors from the dealers. Or just pay top dollars to buy new fairings from dealers or ebay.

If you're to paint it through a paintshop, that really depends on them, the paint job can cost anywhere from $200-1000.

And definitely pick up frame sliders, it tends to save the bike from these typical fall off.

Chick dig scars. if its not bad then leave it. battlescars prove your trying.

i had my GSXR750 in an accident were they replaced the left side fairings and sprayed the tank. neither matched perfect. being a perfectionist too i had the shits. sold the bike instead. (really i needed the money for a house but it sounded good).

when i dropped my 954 after a stoppie gone bad, i learnt that stickers are a stunters best friend. yah to alpinestar stickers

oh and frame protectors are THE best invention for slips like this.
Oggy are the Aussie version or R+G but there are heaps out there, even carbon look

bikes should just come with frame sliders already installed from the factory. i dropped my bike shortly after i first got it and no one around here was willing to paint it becuase of the matte finish(which you have also), they said they'd have a hard time matching it to the rest of the bikes paint. i broke my mirror, rear brake lever and scratched the right fairing. i used a local dealership and www.RonAyers.com for oem parts. i found a place that gets oem fairings already painted so i got one of those instead of trying to have it painted, hopefully someone around you can get them too. but before i fixed it i got a crash kit(frame sliders, swingarm spools and bar end sliders) to keep that from happening again.

www.solomotoparts.com is good for aftermarket stuff
www.kawiforums.com is good for group buys and the classifieds section. this thread right here has a guy parting out 3 05 zx6r's http://www.kawiforums.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=63221, i'm sure you could get some of the stuff you need from him.
