yeah that is a really good thing i think. domestic car companies build quality is really good now but people still have misconceptions about it. things like this should help that.

I'm really not impressed. It would have to be a 10 year or 100k mile warrenty before that will impress me...

^ This is just a sign that ford is standing behind its cars more. Not that they want to Give "The Best" warranty available. But then again, i think the only reason people buy kias is because of the warranties, (because the cars arn't very good IMO)

Yes that's better however, I'm not impressed either. Chrysler has 7/70k and as mentioned earlier Hyundai/Kia have 10/10k. My Mom has an 02 Hyundai Sonata 4cyl. with 84,000 miles on it. The car runs great. The only thing she's had to do is basic upkeep on it.
I have taken her car to the dealer for work to be done and I have been VERY impressed with how they take care of their customers. Yes, I agree, they had to do that along with the 10/10k warranty to get going over here, but you know what....they're still doing it!! They have a strong base over here now and I have read many magazines and seen many shows talking about Hyundai's quality improving to the point to where they match Honda in quality!
I used to work at a Ford dealership and I've seen how they DO NOT take care of the customer in the bodyshop, parts, and service dept. I still have 2 Fords currently the newest is an 03 we bought new from a Ford dealer 20 min. away because we've heard nothing but good things about them, and they have taken care of us every time we go there.
With the way the Hyundai dealer treats us and knowing about their level of quality and the warranty, why would I not buy one next time I'm shopping?! Don't get me wrong, I still love Ford but, it's time I think with my wallet not my heart. FOR PERFORMANCE/RACING I WILL ALWAYS GO FORD!!! And sometimes GM.
SORRY FOR THE BOOK GUYS.

I see what you're sayin. Yes hyundai is becoming a VERY good quality vehicle. and i'm just saying, this could lead to ford getting closer to offering an even bigger warranty.

Sorry for the typo. I meant 10/100k not 10/10k. I think you guys knew what I meant.

If Ford or GM could offer even a 7/70k like Chrysler, I would be happy with that. No, I will never by a Chrysler no matter what kind of warranty they offer. Since the 70's they have been known for bad trans. and they still have problems with them, so they kind of have to offer that warranty.
Until Ford or GM step it up, I don't think I'll be shopping them again. That is, for just daily transportation anyway. I mean, who cares what kind of car you drive everyday to work or down the highway or in the winter, it's just transportation. As long as it has a good safety rating.
I used to think "I'll gladly pay more for Ford, or pay the same and get less". HOW STUPID IS THAT??!! We bought are 03 Taurus new and PAID EXTRA TO GET THE EXTENDED TO 6 YEARS/60,000 (I think that's the miles). AGAIN, HOW STUPID IS THAT??!! We could of gotten 10/100k...FOR FREE!!!!
Like I said earlier, if I'm buying a new performance car, it WILL NOT be a Tiburon. ONLY a Mustang, that is where I will keep my "pride" with Buying Ford.
ONCE AGAIN, SORRY FOR THE BOOK!
