Hood Latch

I have a 90 Iroc. I think the hood release cable snapped. How can I pop the hood. Is there a way around the release cable? Thanks

I think you're going to have to find it by looking under the hood.. mine snapped too but theres a cable that goes down and I have to reach under then pull.. its black about the size of a pencil thick and has a wire in it.

Or maybe you could be able to open it up by unhooking it from the front.. just take off your grill and feel around there.

Well on mine theres a silver cable inside of the black one, so you have to strip it like speaker wires and then pull on the silver cable..

mine is about to snap, how much is it to replace?? i remember when it got caught on something and i had to get under there and move it to get it out.. it sucked...

From the dealer it will be around $38 dollars. You might be able to find it cheaper used.
