Hello all, have a minor problem... Truck was running terrible, mostly on wet humid mornings, so after reading the threads on here I decided to check my cap, rotor and wires... Well after pulling the wires out of the cap I noticed they were green... After changing everything the Blazer runs fantastic... But, now on the Dist. I can not screw the cap on tight because the screw hole is broke. Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix...

Thanks

This is a common problem unfortunately,GM uses so much damn loctite, that the crap builds up on that thing ring, and when you try to put the screw back in it cracks. This happened to me as well, and after becoming furious that I was told I would need a new distributor to get a new screw hole, I JB Welded the cap to the distributor.

Use silicone adhesive around the edge of the cap and secure it that way.

Make sure the surfaces are clean before doing it and it will stay put.

A NEW DISTRIBUTOR!!!!! That's crazy... So did you just spread the JB Weld around the outside if the entire cap or should I just put a dab right where the hole is?

Is the Silicone idea better?

not permanent so you can replace in the future.

Put a longer bolt in it with a flat washer and nut below the broken housing.
