This is a test on the level sensor for the front air suspension. The problem was the front would raise all the way up and the back is what needed to raise. (Only a little) This problem has been going on for a while. I found the sensors that directly affect where the air goes (either the front or the back). Behind the driver side front tire there is a small sensor that looks like a suspension shock.(only smaller) And above the rear sway-bar there is another small sensor that looks identical. The truck was high in the front and a little low in the back. I decided to disconnect the REAR sensor from the frame and extend it all the way out simulating a very high ride position. (This is with the truck turned off) The air started to bleed out and the rear of the truck sank. I mounted the small sensor (that looks like a small shock) back in its position and the air stopped bleeding out. I did the same thing to the front sensor but nothing happened. Remember, the front is way to high as it is, that has been my problem. I put the sensor back in place and decided to disconnect the plug from the FRONT sensor and the air started to bleed out and the ride height dropped until I plugged the sensor back in. I don't exactly know which sensor is bad but I intend on replacing the front first because it is usually always to high. I did take an ohmn reading on both front and back.
Results: Front sensor 20k Ohmn
85k Ohmn
85k Ohmn
Rear sensor 5k Ohmn
80k Ohmn
80k Ohmn
Sorry don't remember which color the wires were but I checked them in the same sequence, as the results show. I will report back with an update in a couple of days. Oh yeah, the dealer wants $130 for a new one. Looks like a junk yard part to me.
