I have been reading past threads about replacing rear shocks on 95 conti and I am confused on what shocks I can use to replace the original shocks. I thought I read I can use a 76 taurus wagon shock. I have read about other shocks being used besides orig equipment and I am confused on what I can use as a cheap replacement. Ant thoughts on what can I use?? I am not that fussy about how the car rides I am using it for just basic transportation back an forth to work. Car has 173000 miles on it. Engine runs fine right now and I just want to put in as little money as possible and keep the car running until the engine starts acting up and costing me then I think the car is worth money. I have had the car for 3 and a 1/2 years and the air suspension and shocks have been my biggest problems. I replaced one of the front air bags with an Arnott bag. Air shocks still have slow leak, I just pump up the bags and turn off compressor switch in the trunk and once a week pump them back up.
Any help on what replacement shocks would be a good replacement for the shocks would be helpful.
Thanks

Try Strutmasters.com or Arnott.com's conversion kits. They will set you back $469, but you never have to deal with the damned air ride suspension again. The ride is decent as well.

Theres always OEM, if you liked the ride that you had before

I do not believe Arnott or Strutmaster include the rear shocks in the conversion kits. When I looked they wanted a lot of money for the shocks. The car has never been a great riding car, so I am not in love with the ride and want basic transportation from it.
