I've ahd this worsening problem of a car that doesn't want to start when the sun is beating down on it. It will start in the morning, but after work, it doesn't want to ignite. I've changed the main relay and checked the air filter etc..but to no avail. Once the car starts, it will run no prob, until it sits in the sun for a while. What does this sound like? Could a dirty fuel filter be the culprit? I am no where near a motor head, so any advice would be appreciated.

Try another main relay. They are known to go bad in those cars often. Also, try your ignitor and/or coil (inside the distributor).

I replaced the main relay a few days ago, and it still wasn't working right. I'm thinking that it's getting 'vapor lock' in the fuel rail. I took it to my mechanic, and they set it out in the sun for a day, and it fired right up.. They cant fix it when nothing seems to be wrong.
