so today i got out of work at 2 and when i got home i didnt have anything to do for a few hours so i went outside and decided to take apart my interior sail panels(where the subwoofer is in the monsoon stereo system) I first take off the speaker cover, which i had never done yet and found out that the previous owner had replaced the subs. Then i get the bright idea that i want to replace the rest of my speakers. So i do some research and it seems that many people suggest that you can't replace monsoon speaker with anything else other than monsoon replacements. does anyone know if this is true? I mean i already have aftermarket subs...so that makes me think that you can directly replace speakers as long as they are the same ohm and everything. thanks in advance for all suggestions and replies

Thats just it, if youre keeping the stock stereo head unit, then you just have to make sure youre using replacement speakers with the same ohm rating. Otherwise you run the risk of damaging components.
