I'm looking to buy a firebird off an aquantance, and he swears a LS1 motor was p[ut into his firebird. I want to know if there are any defining marks on the LS1's that will prove wheather it is or not.

The LS1 has a pretty distinctive intake on it. The runners are set back like halfway in the engine bay and appear to run horizontally across the top like an arch. I dont have any pics, but someone like Luos or Formula will. The throttle bosy and valve covers look different too...basically, you cant mistake it for an LT1 or L98.
