Changing Batteries in Remote Key

Any ideas as to how to replace batteries in my remote key. I can get it into 2 halves, the bit with the key and the bit with the buttons on, but I can't see how to get it apart further to get to the batteries.

Thanks

What car are the key and fob for? Is the remote(s) the original remote(s). Do they work intermittently? Car year, model would help also. Thanks

It is for a 1999 S type jaguar original key. Nothing wrong with the key I just want to change the batteries if I only knew how!

I assume you have a seperate key and a seperate key fob(remote) 2 screws to remove or just pry a little screw driver inbetween the lips and open it up.

If you have the integrated key/key fob combo, pry the two plastic pieces apart, you wont break anything. its a snap spring fit.

Hope this helps

I have the inegrated key, I can prize the key bit off, so it come in to 2 peices, the bit with the metal key on, and the bit with the remote.

What I can't see is how the remote bit come apart further to replace the batteries.

I have indeed, I was in the right area, just wasn't forceful enough with prizing the 2 bits of the case apart. It splits around the central line of the case.

Got to do it again now as I didn't have the right battery yesterday.

Thanks for the help.
