door sensors?

hey i have a 91 escort and both the dome light and the auto seatbelts wont work when they are supposed to ie when the doors are open. im thinking its the door switches but it seems kind of weird that they both wouldnt work. does anyone have any experience with this problem or have any ideas to fix the problem. thanks

If neither diir switch is working, move up the line to the fuse under the dash... I think it is labled "chime" or something of the sort.

i wasnt sure which one it was so i checked all the fuses and they are all good.
any other ideas?

Start with the door switches and bypass them to see if you still have the same problem. Check to see if you have power going to the fuse.
