Well, I got a call yesterday afternoon saying that my car would be here between seven and seven-thirty. The truck broke down and he couldn't deliver that night. However, at about eight-thirty this morning he pulled up to the front of the house with my new car. Since it was on the top I could look under it and the front subframe was straight, as was the rest of the car. No rust at all, not even on the exhaust. When he pulled it off it started right up and to my amazement NO LIFTER TICK! I then took it for a spin around the neighborhood and the car drove strait, no rattles, no shimmies, and no grinding in any gears. The coolant light and SRS light won't go off but I know what I can do to fix those. Anyhow, here are some pictures. It is pretty dirty and needs to be cleaned. I'm going to detail it this weekend and take some better pics.

Here is a shot of my dad's new Crossfire. He just bought it a week after I bought my R/T. I guess I sent him into a mid-life crisis.

I don't like the shifter, it's kind of mushy. I like a notchy shifter where you can feel it go through the gates. I'm hoping there is something I can do to fix that. Other than that it was everything I expected it to be. Sadly I couldn't get on it because I didn't have time to warm the engine up. I had just enough time to take it for a quick spin since I was late for work as it was.

Oh well, on the way home from emissions testing I'll get on it and see what it's like and then it will be time for the free boost mod. :naughty:

Not really. I will change out the wheels and tires, maybe the intake and exhaust. After the GTC is done I will make it my next project car and then mod the piss out of it. For now it is the daily driver.

Nice, I posted in the other thread. Not to hijack, but what are your quick opinions on the Crossfire. An aquaintance of mine just got one, and I realized, I really don't know a damn thing about them. Didn't know whether to congratulate him, or fake a smile and feel sorry on the inside...

You can get them for cheap because Chrysler over estimated the market for them. I've driven his and it is fun little car. My only complaint is the cheap looking interior. It also doen't have the best visibility.

Cool little car though, I wouldn't mind having one.

i thought the crossfire looked pretty cool until jermey clarkson said that the back looks like a dog taking a poo. cause the back is arched over and the flare fenders looks like the legs. then i'm like noooooooooo. i doubt your dad will drive the crossfire that hard, cause most reviewers said the handling was its weakest link. jermey clarkson, james mays, and tiff needle all said the same thing.

but damn that is one clean ass stealth. now you can put a hurting on the big boys now.

Yeah, I remember that, but I still like the looks. As far as the handling goes, it's better than most cars, but not as good as you would expect. However, the SRT-6 version is much better in that respect.

LOL! Yeah, we've always been big on Mopars. My parents have a 300M, Hemi Jeep, and the Crossfire. I have the LeBaron and the Stealth. My brother has a Dodge Ram. My sister has a Sebring and a Durango. And my other sister has a Civic and a Chrysler Town & Country.

I will say that I'm not closed minded about other cars though. I can't speaks for the others. :icon16:

That's dirty??? wow, I guess my car's a garbage dump ...

Well, I'm pretty anal about being clean. It does have leaves and crap all over under the hood, bugs all over the front, and water spots all over it from some rain. It isn't that bad. The worst part is the fact that the last owner got wax on some of the black trim and headlights and I know that is going to be a bitch to get off.

Anyhow, thanks for all the comments everyone. :)

Beautiful Stealth Polygon. And I would hardly call a Stealth a Mopar but I guess to everyone their own. Nice to see you moving up in the world from one turbo to two. lol

And as everyone starts hearing about more and more people on here buying 3/S's I should hope they start listening. As I along with others have brought warning of of the 3/S take over........

Nice Stealth. I always preferred it over the 3000GT's. Don't get me wrong, I'd take a VR-4 3000GT in heartbeat but I always preferred the American-branded Japanese cars to the Japanese-branded ones such as the 2nd gen Eclipse/Talon. But nice car anyway. And one question, what year did they start and stop putting 4-wheel-steering in the Stealth/3000GT?

VR43000GT
07-12-2006, 11:16 PM
Not until they stopped making them in 99. 4ws was in all Vr4's 91-99. Although it was only 1.5 degreed turn in the back which many say is unnoticable and only adds more weight and is another thing that requires the fluid to be changed.

He complained that it only came in auto. Then his came and it was an auto anyway, he thought it was going to be a manual but he didn't seem to care. I'll bet it had more to do with price.

I knew someone was going to ask this question at one point. The GTC requires too much work to really be used everyday right now. I have been driving daily for a few weeks now getting and average of 30MPG even though I do beat on it. However, I can hear that at least one wheel bearing is bad and so is a CV joint. Also, the suspension is shot. Besides, the Stealth is already stupid fast for a daily, the GTC is just pretty quick.

What is there that needs to be done with the GTC?

You car looks great btw.
To really be a daily driver it would need new wheel bearings, a new CV joint, new struts, springs, sway bars, new power steering pump, steering rack, and an alignment.

As for completeing the project itself:

Fuel system
Ignition system
Intercooler
Intake
Exhaust
Turbo upgrade
Custom header
LSD
ACT clutch
Lightened flywheel
Interior
Suspension
Body & paint
Brakes

I'm sure I left some stuff out.

Also, the reason for the huge parts list is because I plan to make it run about 350WHP. Really it would be fine if I just fixed the wheel bearings. The rest really isn't that bad.
