Haha ok fine, but the proof will have to wait till tommarow, its to dark to go take a picture and im to lazy. But it was a pretty fun 4-5 hour install there. And now I dont have windsheild wiper fluid cuz the directions suck. Oh well, just more weight taken off anyway. Anyway, pictures first thing in the morning!

Yeahhhh, imma have to take back my comment on the "pictures first thing in the morning!" thing. I kinda wasnt very awake before I had to take it to the shop to get some axles replaced because of the curb incident. Supposed to be done by tonight tho. While you wait here's a picture of the old intake system with the window wiper fluid container!

I believe its one of things thats pretty basic and easy to do, and you pretty much need it if you are going to improve your engine very much at all. Atleast untill you get a turbo or something.

lol well he gets his car back too, not finished but he will have it back
MrR0b0t0
07-14-2006, 05:53 PM
Haha well for the lighter note, remember that curb I hit? Yeah, ever since then its had problems, first the control arm that was the main problem. Then the bearings starting goin out. And now some axle shaft that I forget the name of.
MrR0b0t0
07-14-2006, 07:08 PM
They just called and said that they couldnt find the axle anywhere in the surrounding metroplex, so they took it to another shop that rebuilds cars and they took it apart and couldnt find anything wrong with the axles that are on it right now. So they rebuilt it with new cv boots and stuff and repacked everything, and it's still making the noise. Oh well, better be gettin a discount for whatevers causing this.
Classicrocjunkie
07-15-2006, 02:54 AM
Ever think the noise could be comming from your tire? Have your shop put your car up on a lift just enough off the ground. Put the car in gear and start to accelerate, have one of the tech try to pin point where the noise is comming from. I had to do this with my dealership when I shot my CV shafts and had wicked bad wheel vibrations. They wouldn't do anything for me which is why i replaced everything on the front end.. Wheel bearings, CV shafts on both sides, lower ball joints, added the prothane control arm bushings.. brand new brakes and rotors.. Something out of the bunched solved my problem.
MrR0b0t0
07-15-2006, 02:38 PM
hmm well the bearings and ball joints have been replaced, and they said no where around here carries the shafts, so thats why they had to take it to another shop that specializes in that kinda stuff to see if that was the problems. The shop said it wasnt, after taking it apart, soooo i dunno whats next. They let me have it hac for the week ends after tightening up everything like the sub frame and what not, and told me to bring it back monday. Anyway, pictures of the engine w/ teh intake soon enough.

07-18-2006, 10:51 PM
so when you going to get your ride back and post some pics of this intake.. haha i brought this shit back.

07-18-2006, 11:57 PM
You suck, you know that. But, as the coincidence may be, I actually got it back today. Unfortunatly, the shop couldnt fix it. Ended up finding a bent strut holder or something like that (whatever goes at the bottem of the strut that lets it turn) and thought that might be the case, and it wasnt. Still, he said that it is really hard to make it make the noise, and hes sure that nothing will break/fall off. Oh well, im offically broke now, the parts cost me $135 (didnt charge for labor since he didnt fix it), and I have to get it alligned tommarow, costing around $100. And thats about all I had left after buying the intake and paying for the original repairs. Oh well, you wil see my engine tommarow considering I have the day off and nothing to do. =D

Haha considering im only 16, my income usually amounts to around $120 a week. Unless I get that second job, then maybe a little more. And i'll only be able to keep that job for about 3 weeks cuz school starts soon. =*(, It sucks being young, most of the time. =D
