my blinkers..is this normal?

When i put on my blinker lights they are considerably slower than most cars..when i drive my dads truck the blinker flashes pretty fast..It blinks on then off on then off

on my car it blinks on..stays off for like 2 seconds(real 2 seconds) and then goes back on..its not the bulbs because they are all brand new..Its not like extremely slow but its slower than most cars..possible to speed them up just a little or is that how all these cars are? thanks

My brother's were slow on his 87 ta, mine are slow on my 95 grand am. Seems to be that when the brake light and turn signal bulbs are the same they run a little slower as they are much faster on the camaro.

Replace the turn signal flasher relay, its under the dash, under the steering wheel (drivers side), usually clipped on the dash somewhere, turn on the turn signals to get the right one. They use 2 relays now, 1 for the turn signal, 1 for the 4-way-flashers. its less then $10 to get the heavy duty one, its worth the $2 to upgrade, as they get old they slow down, then they don't flash. $10 and 20 mins max. Pick up the new part first so you know what it looks like, any auto parts place will have it, or meijer, k-mart, truck stop, ect ...

what exactly is the part i need? like the model number? ill head over to advance auto before i go to work..u said $10 then u said its worth the $2 to upgrade..im confused

its called a "turn signal flasher" per advance auto parts
they offer 3 different ones

"LF2" loud flasher $8.88
"EL12" heavy duty $10.99
"EFL1" standard $8.99

go with the $10.99 one (its worth the extra $2)
the loud one may be just as good, but will get annoying!

My blinkers slow down when there's low voltage.
