Does anyone know how and if you can save a flash file on a web page to your computer?

You could clear your internet cache completely, then visit the website you want to download the files from only, then have a hunt around in your cache to try and find them :)

My trick is to find the location of the flash (http://www.whatever.com/whatever.swf) and make a little download page on your hard drive. Just copy and paste this into notepad:
<html>
<a href="http://www.whatever.com/whatever.swf">
</html>
...and save it as an html file, like "download.html" or something. Also, of course, replace the above url with the actual location of the flash file. Open the page, then right click the link and "Save target as..." :)

if you have mozilla you can go to: tools/page info/media (the tab at the top) then find the flash file on the list, then hit "save as" and save it.

yeah no problem, you can also use it for videos on sites that won't let you download them, where it only plays in an online player.

You could probably try some different free converters video editors that might let you export or save it as some other format. I don't know of any off hand and you'll probably waste some time looking for one that will actually work and you still might not find one that will work.
www.download.com (http://www.download.com) or something similiar

Kickass Firefox tip for the media tab. That's awesome.
