Yo Sup guyz, i need a little help!! i bought a 98 jimmy and when i initially bought it, it made a small knocking noise when i turned the steering wheel to the left...i thought it mite be the ball joint but i had the damn thing checked out by 3 mechanics and nobody can find the problem!!!! i took it to my usual mechanic and he said that he didnt know wut the problem was cus it just wudnt knock with him everytime i took it to him (go figure).. i then took it to a different mechanic and he said it is my balljoints from the front (im amazed there are 4 in the front, which i didnt know) and i took it to a third mechanic and he said my ball joints are fine and that he said it was my bottom control arm, so i just changed it and yet i still have a knocking noise..im about to sell the damn thing after my dad takes it to one more mechanic he knows, if he cant figure it out cuz its driving me crazy with how many little problems that keep coming up with this truck.. anyways, any help would be appreciated GREATLY... Thank alot :grinyes:

hey k pup hows it going. here is a possibility, some times the torsion bar cross member mounts break and will cause intermittent knocking noises. this happens when the torsion bar cross member mount is broken and it will lift up in the frame channel and knock against the upper part of the frame channel. have it put on a rack and have tech use a pry bay and jack to lift the crossmember on one side at a time to see if the mount is broken and if so have both replaced.
we may love our jimmies but they are all from hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!:evillol:
