The extact date was september 1st 1998 when it first came on and I remember going through about 15 different search engine prior to that looking for that name and none was found. I've only gotten 5479 so far this month and 16220 in March. And I presume that less than you got probably. Oh yeah and if you don't belive me its right here: http://www.necollectibles.com/stats/. Wheres yours at?

*ahem* i don't want to interrupt on your guys' bonding time, but just go to domaininfo.com for registering stuff...

ultimatecarpage.com
04-17-2001, 03:34 AM
Thanks Adam, it can't be a coincidence that ultimatecarpage.net was registered only one week after ultimatecarpage.com.

Have you all seen our report on the Techno Classica Essen ?? It's all original content and our own photografie !;)

carmaster
04-17-2001, 09:06 PM
Actually yeah I was cause I was working with a guy that bought my domain for me and gave me 100 plus meg of webspace for, free; how much did you spend? I might have waited a week but look at home much I paid. Also you may have the Techno Classica Essen, even though I have no fuck'n clue what it is, but do you have pictures of being jumnped by a dirtbike:D or less than 3 inches away from a dirtbike goin 35 mph? Thats what I thought:finger: Also I live in Maine and have a limited income so I don't have the chance to go to any car shows or events like others do.

Techno Classica Essen is the largest indoor historics show in the world. And if you can't get to original why bother setting up a site ? You are just one of the many sites with the same content. I'm glad you try and keep this discussion mature, like wishing me to die !

carmaster
04-18-2001, 07:59 AM
Yes I know I am a very mature person, but actually wishing you to die is Forum wide so everyone can see what a lil fag you are. Also you want to talk about original how are all these pages original:
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/home.mv?file=car.mv?num=1
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/home.mv?file=car.mv?num=2
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/home.mv?file=car.mv?num=5
also there are many many more of cars that have been found on the internet but I just don't feel like pointing out every single one. Also I bothered setting up a site before you and gathering more hits than you so user can have an easy to navigate database of hundreds of cars and trucks, which can only be found in a few other places around the net. But the only thing not mature in this disscussion is people like you that steal other peoples site names than try to come up with lame ass excusses why!

ultimatecarpage.com

There you go on about stealing site names. As a law student I know that for stealing something, that something needs to owned by someone. You didn't own the name ultimatecarpage.com. Our names aren't the same anyway, yours is 'The Ultimate Car Page' and ours is 'Ultimatecarpage.com'.
And as for original, you only use other peoples pics, I admit that not everything is original but certainly most of the newly added cars are original.

http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/home.mv?file=car.mv?num=658

My pics are that good that supercars.net is using them.

Ohh so what your saying is just because its not written in stone I don't own that name? And actuall its Ultimate Car Page not "the" ultimate car page. And big deal supercars.net used your pictures, they started out the same way I did by find pictures on the internet and creating pages.

question: are either of you guys losing business or money because the other person has a similar name? I doubt it. So relax!

If this is a contest of originality or content, then I would say Ultimatecarpage.com is the winner. I'll admit I'm a regular to his site, but I've visited Ultimatecarpage.net as well. I'm sorry to inform you, but I haven't returned to Ultimatecarpage.net in quite a while (besides a quick peek today to substantiate this reply). I enjoy the originality of photography and stories on Ultimatecarpage.com. If I want to see common images that are easily found elsewhere on the net (as Ultimatecarpage.net contains), then I go to my own site: www.autoimage1.iwarp.com

I believe originality is the key. For the most part, my site is original in it's design, and original photographic coverage of the 2001 Canadian International Auto Show www.autoimage1.iwarp.com/cias2001.htm and the 2001 North American International Auto Show www.autoimage1.iwarp.com/naias2001.htm

Have you read the in-depth story on the battle between Ford and Ferrari for LeMans honours at Ultimatecarpage.com? You can't deny that that story is not original and concise. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/home.mv?file=Features/ff.html

In closing, if originality is the reason for discussion then there's no comparison. if it's only because of the site name, then Ultimatecarpage.net, you're obviously paranoid about totally losing your visitors. If your site is worthy, then the public won't care what the name is.

carmaster

No the reason I was mad cause he took my name. I could care less about what he has or what he does I wwas just plain mad that he stole my name. I'm not worried about vistors, 16k plus is enough for me. I also am not really interested in going on the internet just to read stories, I like to see pictures. But the plan of my site wasn't really for original content, it was more for a well organized database for many cars. Instead of looking all over the internet for pictures you could just go to one place to find them.

it looks like your bonding time quit... anyways... look @ http://www.fantasycars.com/derek ...

then look @ mine: http://www.supercarstats.com

he just recently colored his buttons and his scroll bar... and he also changed potw to wotw... I did the same thing--- a couple of weeks ago... if that doesn't look like copying, i don't know what is.... but i don't think he would copy from me, but stilll... makes you think...:(

In response to Ultimatecarpage.net last post:

well, you've got some work to do then don't you, cuz you're still in the outfield with your site. that's ok, we all had to start somewhere.

i have no idea who had the name first and i'm not going to take sides regarding that issue.

i'm relaunching the Auto Image site in the next few days (hopefully) with over 150 additional high-res images, making our total well over 1200, and i have over 900 more images on my hard drive to add in the weekly updates for the future. We're also adding some new sections including Audio, Video, and Desktop themes.

Thanks to Spyder (from SC forum) for joining forces with me to supply over 150 car vids, and loads of sounds and themes.

Porsche

Carmaster, I'm with you on this butl, your doing it to yourself by putting the name up on a message forum. Y I know it really helps publicity but, there is the downside of more people copying. This is't really a result of that but like big_durango said, if your not losing business then relax!

carmaster
04-18-2001, 07:46 PM
Yeah, I think I'm making this too big, I'm not losing people just gaining them and I've lived with it for 3 years so I can live with it for longer. So I'm just gonna lock it now.
