So I jacked up my car to change the oil today (first time changing it since buying) and what do I find but a rusted and partially stripped drain plug..after half an hour of wrenching this thing I am really pissed about it not coming off..and don't ask me dumb questions like "are you turning it the right way" I've changed oil plenty of times and I know how to do it but I've never had this problem so any help would be appreciated..

well the vice grips didn't work and niether did a couple of other heavy duty tools..this plug is just wrecked, so I'm takin it to my mechanic and he'll probly drill it out and put in a new one..it just sucks that I couldn't do somethin so simple all because some previous owner or idiot mechanic messed up an oil change..oh well

You tried taking a socket(small size then your drain plug) and smacking it on with a hammer, and getting a socketwrench on it, and a pipe and giving it all hell?

Im very confident that would work, and risk not having metal shavings/drain pan damage from drilling it.

worked with mine, and several other rusted in bolts and random fittings.

I think you need a new pair of grips my man, never met a bolt/nut I couldn't break free with 'em. :dunno:

ya get a new set with some sharp new grip teeth on them, there is no way that bolt is not comming out then.
