My daughter has a 94 Grand am. While driving the other day she said it was driving rough and after stopping for a while at a friends ouse she went to leave and car will not start. I found the hose to the Oil/Air sperater had been lost so replaced it thinking maybe Vacc leak. Still no go. So far have checked plugs, look ok just a little black but no build up, Fuel pump starts when key is turned. Car Turns but just will not start. Sounds to be getting fire.:banghead:
Any Ideas? BTW it has teh Quad Engine

Ok after forgetting to turn key off and jumping the car for about an hour if is trying to start again but dies immediatly also I have to hold foot to the floor to get it to start.

Could this be a power thing such as the Alternator as mentioned or?????

First let me thank you for all the help here.

In case someone else has the same problems found my Converter had fallen apart and was plugging the exhaust. Removed O2 Sensor and part of the converter actually came out of the hole where the O2 was.

exact problems were as follows
Poor power/accelleration
getting fire but would not start.

a clogged/dirty fuel filter could also cause some starting issues.
So you did get it fixed pjfire ?
