BIZZARO Front differential leak

I'm spotting some gear oil from my 98 Blazer's front differential. It appears to be coming from where the front driveshaft enters the front differential. I can't find mention of whether there is a seal in there (though, there must be). All the sources I've looked into mention a pinion seal at the REAR differential where the rear drive shaft enters. Anyone ever replace this?

Have you checked your fluid level? Maybe it is overfilled.

It's definitely not overfilled, I changed the fluid two years ago and this leak just started three weeks ago.

Yep, there is a GM front pinion seal about $8 and its a bear to brake that nut loose - sure its pinion and not the oil cooler line above it or the filter adaptor leaking - seen both leak.

Front pinion seal.
Just did mine 2 weeks ago.
Cheap job to have done.
Suggest having a good mechanic to do it seeing you will have to properly preload the bearing again.

Yeah I know what you mean. I thought the same thing. I did replace my oil lines a few years back with the updated ones and the area looks to be free of leaks, not to mention the oil that's leaking is pretty clear. Best bet is that its the pinion. Thanks for the responses.
