Tickets are an inevitable part of driving Iguess, and the faster the car ,the more likely...

I've gotten only 1 ticket ever, back in Nov. of 2000, for 10 over the limit. If I keep being my  self for 3 months, it's off my record entirely. :)

The only tickets I've gotten the last few years are of the plane variety.

Managed to accumulate 80 points in two tickets in three months. 100 points in a year you're wearing shoe leather for six months - 100 points in two years it's only three months mooching lifts from mates.
The first was for 136kph passing some drunk at 11pm who I watched wobble around the centreline at 80kph for two miles before I found a clear straight to go past - the drunk then accelerated to 120 as I went to pass so I decided I'd had enough... I see lights in the rear-view mirror as he'd been following three cars back.
The policeman didn't want to hear about the explanation after noticing the skis in the back of the car... got a lecture about skiers always speeding... so after I listened to him I asked him to reset the hold reading on his radar and show me the calibration certificate.
Hint: Always ask to have the hold reading reset as unscrupulous officers could use the reading on someone else - and you can't prove a thing.
He looked very pissed when I insisted on having the reading reset.
The second was on a passing lane trying to pass four semi-trailers before we started climbing a big hill. Fortunately, I was in my car this time so when the radar detector went off I braked very very heavily. Mr Plod got me for 138kph which in the scheme of things wasn't as bad as it could have been as we'd been at Warp 9.
Also got a nice letter from the New Zealand Land Transport Safety Authority reminding me that I had only 20 points left.

Fortunately tickets weren't in the Mondeo...
...Part of the reason I bought the Mondeo... I thought if I drove a four door car and carried passengers more often I'd slow down... seems to have worked and the cruise control is great for dialing up 110 kph on
the motorway...
Besides I was sick of seeing the Mr Plod's eyes light up every time I drove past... Seems if you have a red car, two doors and a rear wing (nothing too ostentatious just a factory spoiler) and alloys... even if you only have 110hp... and the Briko racing stickers on the back windon were for the ski team not the race team...
Besides which I've seen Herman Meier ski faster than I've had speeding tickets...

I talked my way out of my last one... but it wasn't in my car, and I wasn't speeding. It was a jackass cop in a snobbish community who had his panties in a bunch that I was on a motorcycle riding through at 10:30pm  He nabbed me on a helmet violation, which I maintain was not applicable... but nonetheless I told him that I'd never been pulled over before and that I felt unsafe the "proper" way and he eventually let me off with only a written warning.

I haven't been pulled over for speeding in almost 8 years....and that time I was caught going 112 in a 55. I was trying to get away from a truck chasing me in my little Escort. The cop was nice and wrote me up for 85 so that it wouldn't go down as a felony. That one cost me $156
The last time I actually got a ticket was nearly 4 years ago...for causing an accident. That cost me $108.
Speaking of getting pulled over, I had to pick up my mother from the Nissan dealer today since her car was in for repair. As we were leaving we saw a line of 8 cop cars...the first one in line turned on his lights and pulled over this car...it pulled into a trailer park and all the cops rushed in behind and around him. Then they all jumped out hands on guns, yelling at him to stop and stay still. Musta been a very bad boy
