Alright, as many of you should know, I was supposed to look at a '92 TSI AWD...and I did end up getting it for $1500. Anyways, their are more problems than I had imagined, but nothing too major.
So since I am new to the turbo realm, I am going to need alot of help from you guys, lol...
First problem, (which pissed me off) is when I saw the car, the oil level just showed up on the dipstick (like a mm worth), but not enough to trigger the light, it flashed twice though. Anyways, how many quarts of oil does this car take (4 or 5)? And, are these car supposed to have a EGR valve (the one which recirclulates exhaust back into the intake) because I think that was cut off and it spits out oil onto the transmission.
Second problem, is the BOV supposed to recirculate, because this one is plugged up? The car does not sputter or try to die, it just accelerates REAL slow....would a small boost leak slow up a car that badly?
More problems to come though, ofcourse.
LMAO...my chiltons book is going to be raped tonight.
I guess I can finally say this................
In the words of clipsekid99......

4 1/2 quarts, at least for us 2g's
Yes, the EGR valve should be there, there are elimination procedures out there. The BOV should recirculate, but it doesn't have to.
Regarding the car accelerating slowly, that could be MANY MANY things. Gonna have to give us some more symptoms when you can. Welcome to the boosted side.

Ya know this really sucks, I've never driven either a Turboed car nor a supercharged car. I've never felt Nitrous, I've never seriously lit the tires up (little squeks don't count). I need something with some efin balls, ef this T-bird shit I need something that can just grab me by the balls and show me a good time. Damn it now I'm pissed.

I know exactly how you feel. Before this car I never even sat in a turboes car (except an Audi A4 1.8T, which he didnt even push). Hopefully after i fix everything, I can really feel the turbo pull and push me (lol, AWD rules).
What really made me happy was that the car has power everything and leather seat...since it is a 1992, i didnt expect anything of the sort. My 2002 Cavalier does not even have power windows. :disappoin
I am pretty damn stoked about this.

What I need if I want to go the Muscle car route, I would deff. go for a 67 Shelby GT 500 :evillol: :naughty: That what I'm talkin about.
Realisticly I most likely will go for a 2nd Gen GSX, black 3" exhaust,etc...Now that's what I need.

11.2 quarter 68 Camaro Z28 with a HP 302, now that's power. It's got such a cam'd out idle that it sounds like it's going to die sometimes.

Plugged how? Where does the air go? If it is plugged up and has no where to go then it would be like running without a BOV. That's a bad thing. Can you say compressor surge?:uhoh: OR do you mean to say you are VTA, and only the recirc. tube is plugged off? Is it the stock BOV?
Just put a catch can on that EGR valve. Do all the basic maintenance items first then get to modding. :2cents:
Congrats!
................OH and ZL1 camaro FTW! GT500 > n0ne :icon16:
p.s. *off topic* I am trying to locate a reasonably priced flying toilet, I am building another f-bod. If any of you run across one pm me please.

Oh no I meant that the BOV is not recirculating. Also about the catch can...will that feed the oil back into the engine/oil pan?

No. Not unless you did some custom stuff to your oil pan :icon16:
