Having a problem w starting my acura integra. everytime the engine gets hot S3 light comes on the dash board and it won't start, I have to open the hood and let is cool off and the the S3 light will shut off and then I can start the car.I had the cooling system checked, that is all right.I changed the ICM and distributor cap and rotor also. Now I have no spark from the distributor cap to the wires. but there is juice to the ICM and rotor when tested with an omh meter. Please help what can be the problem? I am baffled.

well here I am again, no response still stuck with no spark. I've searched this whole site as I was told too, and others too, but everything that was posted did nothing, still no spark. the crankshaft spins as i turn it over, but still no spark. my mechanic has given up. I've replaced the icm, wires, rotor, the emc under the passenger side foot rest, main relay as was told, still no spark. The coil is the only thing I have not replaced, but it tests okay> Ive read something about the crank postion sensor, could this be it and if so where do I locate this sensor so it can be changed? another thing what should the reading on the coil be, voltage wise, i'll check this with a multimeter when someone sends the info.
Please I've been stuck for 3wks and still no response from anyone here. I'd appreciate a little help for some teg experts out there
again thanks in advance

Well The ignition switch was fine. It was the coil in the distributor the reading was 36 ohms when it should have read between 9-12 omhs. I replaced the coil and voila it started like a charm. Thanks for your help.

right on about the coil..... my 92 gs is shutting off after a short period but it starts again after a while.... when the coil goes does it go completely or will it work till it gets too hot???

turns out it was the igniter.... apparently it's mounted on a heat sink in the distributer,,, constant overheating( bad thermostat) probably is what fried it... all is well now thanks for the heads up
