Hasegawa 93 Impreza.I debated lowering the suspension on this one but decided not to in the end as it was a gravel event. The decals were poor I remember and the wheels should have been more of a darker, brighter gold than what I used.I have this kit to build again and hope to build it better next time.Enjoy the pics.Comments, questions etc welcome.

From an attractiveness point of view rather than accuracy, I would have prefered to see it lowered a little, so that there would be an even space between the wheels and the arches all the way around, but it is very clean and smooth. What paint manufacturer and colour code did you use for the blue?

Model looks awesome.
If I may be so bold:
Ride height does look a little high, even for the RAC and the blue looks incorrect, the pre-96 Imprezas had a darker blue with a purple hue to it.

The blue I used was an automotive paint (Ford Isis Blue) and is probably a little too bright as Freakray mentions. The earlier Imprezas were a touch on the darker side. When I built this model I was having great difficulty with the blue as it was a mix of 3 Gunze Sangyo colours and I could not get them anywhere in the UK at that time.I now know of a supplier for these paints, the internet is a wonderful thing!! As Ray also mentions the suspension is probably still a little too high even for a gravel rally (Is it just me or do most Hasegawa kits seem to be that way???) The suspension set up is probably more Safari Rally!! When I build this kit again I hope to correct these few problems and even may add the 555 logos as I feel the car does look better with them.

Overall, it's still a fine effort.
If you look at other Hasegawa Impreza build threads, you'll see that modifying the suspension is really a pain... You have to consider if it's worth the headache.
I'll point out two details you can probably still adjust:
1. the hoodscoop isn't seated all the way. It's a tight fit, but yours isn't all the way down on the passenger side. Depending on the glue you used (if any; it's so tight you really can do without!) you can probably still pop it into place.
2. Put a drop of black paint in the tailpipe. ;)

A very nice build of this kit Steve. Apart from the hassles of the colour I enjoyed every bit of mine (Possum Bournes 94 Hong Kong Beijing car) which I have in a case here on my office desk (My first experience with PE) Like you I couldn't get the paints recommended to make the right shade of blue but I stumbled across the right mix eventually after a lot of experimenting and it came out right.
Cheers

Looks good to me, shame you lost one of the bonnet pins.
The ride height maybe does look a bit on the high side, see the attached pic's which show 1996 San Remo with McRae airbourne which is not unusual! and Portugal 1995. I know that in the Portugal photo the rear suspension is compressed but I expect is should really be somewhere in between the two.
Perhaps you should show yours in an airbourne pose!
The colour of the decals also appears to change from normal yellow in 1995 to fluorescent yellow in 1996. Another bizzare fact to do with decals is that apparently at Monte Carlo the cars appear on the start ramp with tobacco sponsorship but not during the actual rally!
