Hasegawa Lancia Stratos OOB.Decals a bit of a pain but worth it in the end.I think maybe the wheels should have been a touch darker.Enjoy the pics.Comments good or bad welcome.

nice work. how long did it take you to finnish?

Took about 5 weeks to finish, but I only worked on it at a very steady pace. The majority of the time was spent placing the decals

That is beautiful; the time spent on the decals was very worth it, and I can imagine the decals over the louvered front bonnet were a PITA. Does it have any engine detail?

The kit has no engine to speak of just some parts that sit inside so when you look through the slats at the back you get a sort of hint of what's inside. The decals are quite time consuming to apply but not really hard. The good thing is thay are tough, flexible and stick well and patience and a little decal solution yields good results. The front bonnet decal was quite easy I let it dry overnight then cut each louvre with the scalpel and bent the decals under the louvres with decal solution. If anyone is thinking of building the Stratos don't be put off by the decals as it's a really good kit.

Great looking build of a cool old Lancia!

Instead of darkening the wheels, putting a wash on them would probably make them looks spectacular. In bright yellow, they look a tad monochromatic and plastic, but adding a wash of dark grey (and maybe painting the wheel nuts) would give them alot of depth and realism.

I've wondered how this kit is. Looks like it builds up nicely.

Nice! I have built this kit a few months ago and it was a pain! Yours turns out great!

If you still want to weather the wheels, you can use Tamiya smoke to darken the wheels. You can check out mine for the result of the weathering:
