Well I went ahead and ordered the balljoint dust boots... We'll see if they are the right ones or not... I also ordered up my CAS plug and play harness... Now I just gotta get on my welders ass about finishing things up. lol

The balljoint dust boots fit perfect! Since they are polyeurathane they don't give much, so the inside part kind bunches up a little bit on the bottom lip that it sets on. But thats not a big deal since its sealed all the way around it! :)

On a sadder note... I creamed a deer last night in my parents Ranger... So now I gotta get a new lower valance for it and get some dents fixed in the lower half of the door. :banghead:

They haven't seen the door yet, just the bumper valance... :uhoh:

The Firebird is in rather rough shape now... I actually went and fixed it all up today so I could drive it again since I am banned from my parents vehicles now... Oh well...

So I ordered all the piping today for my exhaust and IC pipes... I have about 230 dollars in an entire 3" stainless exhaust and my lower IC pipes... Not a bad price for all the piping I got... So anywho... Hopefully soon that'll be all done up and I'll be that much closer to finishing it up...

I sure could use some more free time to get this shit done...

Well today starts it off big time... My buddy brought his welder over and we started working on it all today... Got the flange changed on my header and the v-band welded to my turbo... Got the header and turbo mounted and gonna work on the downpipe, intercooler mounting, and intercooler pipes tomorrow or Sunday depending on our work schedules...

It's looking majorly sexy so far...

Oh, here is my valve cover powdercoated too since I've been lacking on pictures lately... I still have to sand the letters down and polish them...

Cause I didn't wanna pay extra to have it done that way when I can do it myself for free... The powdercoat job only cost me like 30 bucks. I thought it was a good price.

I can't believe you guys are actually still expecting pics. It's not going to happen.

Yes, I noticed this... Had a little problem... Called a job. lol...

Plus a little welding incident... We didn't give some consideration to something and we have to change part of it...

You'll see what I mean when we actually get it fixed/figured out and when I actually have pictures of it...

Well I got a lot accomplished today... Got almost everything on the car wired up... Did all the gauges and everything... Just need to rewire my TPS and connect my battery... Gotta weld the exhaust and upper intercooler pipe...

Then my biggest problem... The line that snapped off my fuel pump sending unit... We are gonna try to weld it I think, but if not then I need to find another one...

Then it will be ready to fire up...

Ah I almost forgot to mention about that... Well there clearly isn't room for stock fans, so I have some slimline fans to go in... But... They won't even fit in there... So I am working on something for that...

Yes it is... The one I was originally gonna use left the turbo and everything where it was... This one shifts it a few inches to the passenger side to give plenty of clearance for a 3" exhaust off the turbo to clear the oil filter...

Another problem you just reminded me of... Because of the way this header is, there was no way on earth to connect the top radiator line. So I did some researching and realized that the non-turbo model moves the inlet from the middle to the passenger side. So I got a brand new one for this and the top line can line up with a straight shot now... But... The bottom line is on the drivers side now. So now I have the bottom lines on opposite sides... But I am making a custom water pipe to accomedate this change. It will have to avoid the downpipe and lower intercooler pipe, but it will be possible...

So I guess there is still a little bit more work before I actually get to start it up...

Oh yeah and put pulley belts on too. lol

its up to you, but remember, fans pull more cfm's than they can push. hence the reason fans are mounted behind the radiator.

it could work though, maybe if you have some good antifreeze mix, including water-wetter or something, it might not make a horrible difference.

Oh it'll work just fine. With stock fans it wouldn't work so well, but using some powerful aftermarket fans that move twice as much air as stock ones do should be ok for what I'm gonna try... I don't see a reason it wouldn't anyways. The only time you really use the fans is when your setting around not moving...

I hear 50/50 on it but why not use a short log turbo manifold then you could use stock fans ?

What you do is sell me the slimlines for cheap....then you buy some universal pusher type fans to mount on the front of the radiator and use those. Will work well for both of us.

If I was you I would have finished it along time ago. It took me a week to turbo my car. It only took me a day to change the clutch. And it took me a couple weeks to paint my civic.

It'll be 2 years in June from the time I first started ordering parts...

Oh and I don't need the trays now. We had 1/4" of ice the other night and it was nice and fun with the e-brake. It was unreal how well the ass end of the Cobalt can slide around. lol
