I certainly think it is a bad idea, it would look nice, but the costs of engineering a PROPER convertable (Minimal body flex etc.) Is probably a bit much for Holden at the moment.
BUT if the exports take off, then maybe.....:)

Why would you want to do that...
The handling on a Monaro is better than the equivalent SS because
of the structural improvement of not having to have big holes in the
side of the monocoque to house the rear doors and then you want
to take the top off and turn it into a mobile bath tub.
It's like the bloke down the road who had the one of the first TWR Group
A Commodores and instantly ruined the collectibility by proceeding to
cut a whole in the roof and install a cheap and nasty manual sunroof...
Or the BMW I've seen where they installed big phat speakers flush in the rear parcel shelf and cut through the metal rail under it - and wondered why the boot keep spontaneously opening.
Or the nameless mobile phone installer who drilled a whole in a Lexus
and came back to find a small mound of sand in the footwell. Some
of them had sand in the firewall to help NVH and when he drilled the
hole it ran out...
I guess the upside is that you could see stars when you pull the chicks into the back seat with the roof down...
