not completely out you can just lift it out of the way

Might as well remove it or enought to replace the IM gasket which is highly recommended. I am looking at doing this soon as well. What kind of plugs did you use.
I am going to use the platinums that kia switched to in 03 due to the lifespan. What a PITA to change these.

All tranverse V6's rear plugs are PITA not just kia's .

I managed to change the rear three plugs without removing the manafold.
Had to use a pit and modify a ratchet, wassent fun and took 1 hour to do all plugs and leeds

you can change the plugs from underneath the car by reaching up the back of the engine
