well as most of you know i almost got the money i need to get my car painted. In two weeks i will have it all. BUT i found this sweet 4in cowl hood for sale cheep on the internet. Should i buy the hood and get the car painted later? or get it painted and buy the hood later? but if i get the car painted, i will have to get the hood painted later also. So what do you think? here is the hood. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-83-84-92-Camaro-Cowl-Induction-Hood-Fiberglass-4_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33646QQihZ013QQitemZ2 30003803844QQrdZ1

If you're serious about gettin that hood, get the hood before you get it painted in my opinion. It will most likely be cheaper to have the whole car painted than it would be to paint different parts individually.

You'd think so.. but you'd be wrong..
Its actually cheaper to have parts painted individually.. so usually if you take the car apart yourself and then send the pieces over to a paintshop, it's really going to be hella cheaper cause you're doing alot of the work and really cuts down on how much the original cost would be.

I know from experience here that it is cheaper to get the whole job done rather than painting individual parts. A lot of body shops don't want you to take it apart, do your own sanding, buy your own paint and so on. If you can find one that will let you take it apart and send the hood over and have it painted and put back on that's great, but I would imagine $300 or so for painting just the hood.

getting just the hood painted is ok but to do it right you either have to paint the whole car or blend it to the fenders so it matches.

yea, piece by piece they can't blend it. I'd much rather bring in the whole car
