Shifter will not go into Park

I have a 2002 Grand Prix and when I push my shifter all the way forward it will only go as far as reverse and not park. It almost seems as if the shifter cable slipped. Is there an adjustment for this? I had to use the unlock shifter to get the key out. Anybody have a clue?
