Okay, I most likely have a blown headgasket. BAH, I knew it would happen sooner or later. Well this means I would have to get a new gasket, have the head resurfaced, and of course install the headgasket. I can't exactly do all of this myself. A friend may be able to help me install the headgasket but, he deff can't resurface it. I have a few options. I'm trying to find a 500 dollar pos beater that I can drive for awhile so, I should be able to let my car sit for a while. My local garage has a 1g head for cheap. I dunno if it is a 6 or 7 bolt head but it is a 1g head and it looks practically brand new. I was thinking about just buying that head and putting cams in it and getting a new headgasket. That way I wouldn't have to worry about resurfacing the old head. This would also help out with a few problems with my current head(missing bolts, leaky seals). My other idea is to just let the good ole dsm sit for a long time while I get money together to build it a nice high hp motor.

If I did buy the head I would swap over my fuel pressure reg, new wires, 650cc injectors, and of course the turbo. The head has a stock 14b on it with no shaft play. Also... would I be able to put this 1g head on my 95 without a problem or would there be gay little problems like sensors and all that jazz. BTW any way to tell a 7 bolt head from a 6 bolt head?

I know, freakin life story here. Just sucks... finished turning up the boost and now this shiat. I have arp head studs so I thought I would be okay. BTW I looked on my rebuild sheet from the previous owner. Says it had an Evo HG installed on it. ...Alot of help that did.

So if you buy the other head does the 14b come with it or what?

Yeah the 14b comes with the head. It is an entire top end. Everthing is there and it supposedly works like new. It is all stock btw.

Cool, then you can sell me the 14b since you don't need it. lol

Well... as for the cheap head at the local garage. I found on dsmtuners (I searched... props to me) that a 1g head has bigger holes for the head studs than the 2g head. This means my block would have to be bored out for a 1g head. That sounds like a pain in the ass and more trouble than it is worth to me. I am still looking for a good company to build me a head. Although, I have decided that I am going to do the gasket swap myself because, well all the garages around here run in fear when they hear aftermarket before any part.

I really want to get a brand new 2g head or somewhat new because, I am to fearful of a cracked head and some other rif raf. BTW, do you or should you replace the head studs when you replace the headgasket? I heard the bolts can stretch and you should always replace them with a headgasket. I do have arp head studs btw. Thanks.

Before you talked about the 7-bolt head being a 1g but then you stated something about a 2g 7-bolt, which one is the head you were looking at. I'm pretty sure it's only stock head bolts that you need to replace when installing a new HG, the ARP's can be used a couple times, IIRC.

What I ment is that the head my local garage has laying around is from like a 93 or 94 talon. When I mentioned a 2g head I said I would rather buy a brand new 2g head or have mine "freshened up". So garage = 1g head. 2g head = what I want. Haha, sorry for the confusion.
