Pocket Logger problems

Anyways. I have a pocket logger. Its on a Palm M100. I just got it and I have been using it quite regularly, its pretty cool. Anyways it has worked great up until now. I was playing with it the other day and it said that the batteries were getting low. So guess what I did....disconnected it from the car, opened the back, then replaced the 2 AAA batteries. So I think it reset. I plugged it back into the car and went to the logger program and done the usual procedure but I could never get it to do anything. It always said "waiting for connection". So whats the deal? Im sure its connected properly. Now what am I supposed to do?
