how time flies

catchin up on the morning headlines this morning really made me notice how fast time flies. we can talk about how it has been a year for all sorts of things. this is more to remember something important (im sure we all have important things that happened today)

but it's hard not to forget that a year ago today (July 7th) the London subway bombings happened. i think it is important to never forget what happened, even if it was across the world. some people may equate that to 9/11 here in the US. i don't know too much about London's history so i'm not going to say it is the equivalent. I know that it was a very sad thing that happened. and i remember waiting to hear from some friends that were over there for the summer.

I know that AF has a wonderful membership of people from all over the world. I just wanted to say a little something about what happened a year ago across the ocean and to send my simpathies out to the families and the entire city of london.

Never forget. Terrorists suck.

Terrorists, your game is through, and now you have to answer to: America! FUCK YEAH!

It is quite crazy how time passes by. When 9/11 happened, I was still in elementary school (elementary school is to grade 8, there is no junior high here), and now I've just graduated out of high school. It still really feels like everything happened a couple months ago because of all the news we're still getting about terrorism. I wonder if there will any secrets about the war that we won't find out until 50 years later, kinda like the concentration camps during the Holocaust. Scary thought.

it's weird how an event such as 9/11, or the London bombings, or (for my parents age people out there) the assasination of JFK makes you NEVER forget where you were. I know when 9/11 happened i was brushing my teeth talkin to our foreign exchange student in spanish. he was eating rice krispies. i remember everything that morning.

just like how Damien and L-spec know what grades they were in, im sure they remember what is was like that day. and just like my mom knows how she was at recess when they announced JFK got shot, and that was a long ass time ago.

i don't really know the point of those paragraphs, but i found it interesting when i was reading the replies.

yes, time does heal things, but i think it's important for us to not forget what was healed. i would say it is better to forget something, but i can't really think of anything. i.e. if you were in a good relationship then you two split. you would want to forget that you two broke up, but would you want to forget all the good times you two had?

LOL, I can't believe, I was in 6th grade....6th grade!11!!111!! lol

I remember, I was at lunch, and our teacher would let us turn on the radio but the lunch aid told us not to. I had a little walkman with plug in speakers and that's when my whole class found out and started spreading the news....wooops lol

Time definately does fly. I'll always heard growing up, the older you get the faster time passes by. They were right. I've now been out of college for over a year now. Talk about insane.

Yeah. Once the excitement of bein 21 is over, you just start to feel old. I'm about to be 23 and I complain about feelin old sometimes... my mom gives me the dirtiest looks when I do :sly: Damn, so do you slightly younger guys remember the OJ verdict day? Or were you too young to really care? I remember I was in 7th grade math class with fine ass Ms Moore and she had the radio on. Then when they read the verdict, there was 10 seconds of reaction time then she told us to shut up and went on with class like nothin happened

I remember 9/11 happened my freshman year of college. I was in survey with Prof. Daniels and another professor, Dr. Ashley, walked in to deliver the news and turn on the tv. All classes were cancelled, we went back to the dorms, called our families (since we thought they might attack all major cities), then went out and smoked an insane amount.

I remember the London attacks... I was trying to get details from people I know who are police here State side because they get all the good details that don't get on the news all the time. I was worried that it was going to spread and other places were going to be attacked next.

I remember watching the OJ Bronco chase on tv. That was about 1995 I guess?

I remember driving to school on 9/11 hearing about the planes hitting the buildings.

I don't know where I was this time last year though. Probably on AF?

The years are just flying by.
