2001 Rodeo Check Engine Light Stays On

01 Rodeo Check Engine Light Came On Steady But It Seems To Be Running Fine. Anyone Have An Idea And Should It Be Ok To Drive Untill I Can Get It Checked Out?

If its running fine, it will be okay to drive until you can get it checked. A lot of times this is a bad O2 sensor.

Mine's been off and on for 6 mnths, changed out all O2's, cleaned EGR 4 times, throttle body twice, runs fine with or without the CEL on - if I wasn't worried about not passing emissions in February I wouldn't even give it a 2nd thought - except I'm tired of the idiot light on the dash.

The CEL steady light is ok to drive with, it's when it's flashing that it's not good to drive. And the CEL doesn't always mean a bad O2, especially on the newer Rodeo's - it's usually a clogged EGR valve.

Could be one of several hundreds of OBDII codes. Autozone will read and tell you the code for free. Try there.
