In trying to repair the clock that was shorting out, somehow it shorted out the clock, power seatbelts, power windows and turn signal. None of the fuses appear blown. What else could it be???? It's a 1990 Accord. Thanks!!

Some fuses look good but might still be blown. Have you checked them with the tester?

I believe my dad was able to test the fuses. Also the car won't come out of park even though it cranks. A mechanic said that the car shuts down like that to prevent it from shorting out and he can fix it. He's coming tomorrow to look at it, hopefully it's easier to fix then it sounds. Ever heard of anything like that?

There are fusible links under the hood. I am not sure where they are on your model. You should have looked at them too.
Did your mechanic find what the problem was?
Let us know.

There were fuses under the drivers side dash that we didn't find, but of course the mechanic knew right were to look. One of the main fuses was blown so it turned out to be an easy fix. I'd never had a fuse blow before and having at least 4 things not working at a time seemed like a major problem, especially since we couldn't find any blown fuses. Thanks for the help! I'm up to 228,000 miles and hoping for 300,000!
