it sounds like a slower version of the rev limiter and it wont let me rev past 3k. This use to happen once in a while, then i would turn the car off and on and it would be fine. Now it wont rev past it for crap. Ive been checkin all the wires everything looks good. I cant figure it the fuck out. any help would be nice, i was planning on going to new york tomoro. so ill be up all night.

i also took the tps off. figuring if it was that, and it was off, theres no way it could do that. ive changed the tps. i cant friggin figure it out.
edit::
i switched the coil in the distributor. and it worked alright for about 10 minutes. then i brought it home. went to drive it about a half hour later and now it wont rev past 3 again. then i took apart the distributor sprayed it all with brake cleaner, put it back together. and it did the same thing. work right for about 5 minutes then out of nowhere it wont rev up again.

Most of the time this is a wiring issue with the distributor. Do you have crimp connectors on anything? If so, GET RID OF THEM, they suck. Solder all your joints and use heat shrink. FYI: Not revving past 3k is limp home mode.
