while im thinking of it, how hard would it be to go from a 5 speed to an automatic in a 88 daytona, not sure of model, and its a 2.2 turbo

After reading your other thread, the decision to swap the 5 speed for the auto rests on the engine you have in the car.
If the 2.2 you have is a non-intercooled (Turbo I) Engine, then you can swap the trannys, there are loads of TI automatics out there to get the parts you need to do the swap right.
On the other hand, if it's an intercooled (Turbo II) Engine, the additional power and torque it produces will kill a stock automatic in short order, those engines only came equipped with 5 speeds. You can put an auto behind it if you want, but you better spend some green getting one modified to handle the engine or you may be doing frequent tranny swaps down the road.

Why would you do a 5speed to auto conversion? most people want to do that opposite than what you want to do.
