I emailed www.tuningshop.co.uk to find out about the Supersprint back boxes. The guy said there are two available one for the GT (150 hp) and one for the 1.6/2.0.
He said this:
"Only Nissans similar in supersprint are for 2.0 GT (150bhp) 1997-1999
and
1.6i/2.0i 1996-1999 (no bhp specified)
both 120 X 80mm oval
£163 + VAT = £191.53 + £12.50 delivery"
Now the question is what one to get, I really dont want to get the one designed for the 1.6/2.0. I think I should get the GT one, Ill be adding a GT exhaust manifold anyway.
Hope you can help

I looked at the web site and the one designed for the 2.0 (non GT) is the same one as the 1.6, Part number 930705. The GT (150 hp) is a different part number (930805). I think I will just order the GT one because i dont want a back box on my 2.0 that is designed to fit a piddly little 1.6:D

Neil, I will be using the Eibach lowering springs, drop of 30-35 mm....
I'll be sticking with stock dampers for the time being as they R virutally new, car is only 3yrs old and has only just done 19k miles......let me know how U get on with the Remus backbox prices....but I prefer the Oval tail that comes with the Supersprint......I thought you were looking for Sebring at one stage......ps don't Magnex do a stainless steel system for this car....or is it toooo loud......

Neil, I just checked with Elite who are main dealers of REMUS in this country......they said Remus do a Single squared oval 92x78 for the P11GT.....and for the non GTs the TwinER 92x78 again squared oval....
their price for the P11gt one was £190 inc vat and delivery.......
I think I may stick with Supersprint.......

Sorry for not replying to this topic earlier Neil - I've been on a training course this week and haven't really had access to the 'net.
I've heard good things about the Supersprint exhausts from people in the BMW community, but I haven't heard any comments or seen any dyno graphs for the Primera backbox.
To the best of my knowledge, the fitment for the GT and non-GT backboxes is the same, although if Kevin (P11GT) would be kind enough to bring his stock backbox to York on Sunday, I'll confirm this for you.
Assuming the fitment is the same, you'd be better off getting the GT backbox, as this will be "tuned" for a higher power level than the standard 2.0i one.
Hope this helps you out :)

Elite (01708 525577)......I go along with Anthony I don't think there is any difference between the Gt and none gt backboxes, in respect to fitting......its a bit difficult to take picks of my stock backbox but after having a good look at it.....I can say that the Supersprint 9030805 for the GT is virtually identical to my stock in fitting.......
as U can see from the pics of the 2 bacboxes from SSprint, there is hardly any difference in fittings.....
for P11 GT 930805

As I said, the two fitments look similar, but I can't say that the two are exactly the same without having two to compare.
If Kevin brings his stock backbox to York on Sunday, then I'll compare the two to check they are identical.
OK?

Neil... about the CAI
Your car appears to be a 2000+? is this correct?
Your MAF looks like mine (black plastic), the kind Henry has is the 99 which had the older smaller diameter alloy MAF. Best bet is to measure the opening for the MAF and the throttle body so we can compare...
Hotshot and Place Racing both make CAI's for the 2000+ Here's a pic of mine with an AEM by pass valve fitted in there too.. please excuse the dirty engine bay and greasy prints all over my new chrome CAI..
My MAF sensor seems to mount a little different, but your MAF looks to be the bigger size like mine..

Hmm... the 99 and younger cars here had the alloy MAF.
Loosen the clamp from the rubber piping on the throttle body and measure the opening of it. Then loosen the other side of the pipe and measure the opening in the MAF.

Right guys I have decided I am getting a Powerflow custom made CAT back exhaust. I dont have a clue what to ask for, like the size of the piping, ammount of boxes in the system (does that make sense?) etc Any advice would be much appreciated. Ragt20 I can get a full Powerflow CAT back custom made system for only £250! Plus I dont have to wait over a month to get it, and I can choose the tail pipe. I think ill go for a 4" round. Also does anyone know what the standard Decibel level is of the standard system?
Cheers

For exhaust piping, you want somewhere between 2.25" and 2.5" for non-turbo applications. Any larger than that, and you'll start losing low end power due to a lack of back pressure. Any smaller than that, and you'll limit top end performance.
Oh, and you'll want manderel (sp?) bends in preference to crush bends too....

Mandrel bends leave a nice progressive curve throughout the bend...
A crush bend is.. well.. picture bending a piece of pipe over your knee. lol..

Thanks for the explanation, KEVIN (P11GT) you have a Powerflow system do you know what type of bends they use?
P11GT
08-23-2001, 09:33 PM
I think its what youve called mandrel bends, all i know is that they use this nice bit ofhydralic machine which uses curved clamps to bend the piping to the correct angle, a bit like the tool that plumbers use (not the floppy spring thing! you'd have to be Geoff Capes to bend 2.5" dia piping!)
As for the diameter of mine, i think its 2.5" if i recall correctly, its the biggest size they normally carry in stock, but they can go upto 3" but normally need to order that size in. But like Anth said, dont go beyond 2.5" you may loose back pressure.
