High RPM

Hey guys what's happening? When I start my 94 escort, it revs high( 1500-2500rpm) for 5 of more minutes. I am thinking it's summer, there should be no reason for it to take that long to warm up. what it's even doing these days is; if I start the car, drive for 1/2 mile or so when I press the clutch, the revs race back up. Help anyone; let me know if it's an oxygen sensor or something. Thank you

Idle air control valve. It is on top of the throttle body, usually silver and about the sixe of a couple of D batteries. Replace it.

It's the IAC valve. Remove the wiring and take it off with an 8mm wrench. Save the gasket. Spray the valve with carburator cleaner and oil it with a light machine oil such as 3 in 1 oil. This may work. If it doesn't you can get another one at the parts place.
