stalls when maf sensor plugged in

My buddy has a 87 camaro with 305 tpi . we put on edelbrok headers and flowmaster catback exhaust. He changed the cam and we put top of motor back together.The first problem is there are two connecters we don't know where they plug in.The first connector comes from the egr valve under the plenum.The second is a two pin connector behind the driver's side valve cover. It looks like it comes out of wiring harness and the wire seems short still can't see where it goes. The car starts and stalls. If we unplug the maf sensor the car stays running but it revs high and rough. the only code is 22 i think that is tps i adjusted it still same. any help please car is driving me crazy! you guys always come through for me
