killed an 01 cobra

I was cruisin around cary tonight and I saw two pairs of "stang" lights up ahead. on the left was a red 6cyl stang and on the right was a yellow vert cobra. I knew if it was 03/04 then i'd probly get spanked,, but he revved his engine past the v6 and I didn't hear a supercharged whine at all, and as I inched closer I saw his plate said "01 VENOM." It def had some exhaust work done, and probly headers but not 100% sure. He turned onto a one lane road and I followed him to see if I could get beside him, and he ended up going in a complete circle back onto the road we had just turned from. we pulled up next to a light as it was turning yellow :icesangel. both of our windows were rolled down and I yelled "that sounds nice man." and he said thanks. then we both looked ahead and waited for the light to turn green. as soon as it did I went WOT and got a car or two on him, and then he kept up fairly well as I heard his engine purring. once I hit 2nd I just started walking away tho, and by the time I hit 100 I had about 6 or so car lengths on him and he put his four-way flashers on and I just slammed my breaks and got back down to 50ish. I gave him a thumbs up and as he caught up I heard him let a little "spray" loose. so i guess he was packin some NOS but if he was he didn't use it against me when we raced,, but then I assume he must've used some and went flying by me and accelerated a lot faster than he had from the light probly gettin up to about 80 or 90. I was satisfied knowing now that I can kill a lightly modded cobra (non-blown or sprayed) with a fair amount of ease.

Psh, that wasn't long... should see some my old race threads...

yeah an '03 cobra i'm sure would spank me too. stock they can hit high 12's and consistently low 13's,, but you hardly ever see a bone stock 03/04 cobra runnin' 'round (or any year for that matter) so most are even faster than that :icon16:. i wish they would've made an 03/04 blown ls1 ws6. that would've been one hell of a car :lol:..you think f-birds are extinct forever?

who knows? pontiac may just jump back on the wagon and do another t-a. would be awesome to see how they turn out. i mean, i see them everywhere here in houston, they're a little more popular than the gto, i hardly see gtos around here.

i kinda don't like that idea, but if i see the concept, i may be able to change my mind. i always felt that the t-a was a badass car in itself, it would be nice to see the firehawk make a comeback. but i guess that's just asking too much of pontiac.

dont know if it's gonna have 400hp or more than that though

yeah i've heard rumors of firebirds being dead forever,, just hopin it's not true. anyways i'm sure you'd handle a SC'd cobra pretty easily if you're runnin mid 12's way way up there in the clouds. what do the blown snakes run where you live?

Mid 13's hooking well. Boost has a NICE advantage here. They are getting compressed air and a N/A car has to breathe the thin air.

I've got a date with one that just showed up in my hometown. He thinks the car is stock because I have so much done to the truck. Well, I guess it would be stock without the new HSW nitrous kit I just got in for it. :evillol:
